Job Title: Specialty Support Specialist
Location: Ottawa, ON
Pharmacy: Home Infusion
Reports to: Manager, Home Infusion
No. of Positions: 1
Type: Full time, Permanent
Salary: Hourly, commensurate with experiences

Key Responsibilities 

  • Build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, particularly with Doctors’ offices & MPGL Pharmacies
  • Liaise with MPGL Specialty Pharmacy teams and other head office teams to provide leadership in communicating and collaborating on the specialty pharmacy service offering
  • Collaborate with specialty pharmacy operations teams to identify opportunities and define process efficiencies with respect to any specialty dispensing work flow requirements and client commitments
  • Receive new prescriptions and repeated orders from the clinics
  • Segregate orders and determine the way to dispense the drug (vial vs. syringe)
  • Input the orders in the computer system (KROLL) and bill third parties
  • Coordinate with patients and clinic staff in order to fill out the appropriate documents for manufacturer support programs
  • Follow up on coverage of co-pay from manufacturer support programs
  • Fill auxiliary orders and supply orders
  • Prepare the Compounding records for the clean room and coordinate production with the staff
  • Pack the coolers and coordinate deliveries
  • Coordinate with the Account Receivable department to open accounts and process payments. 
  • Follow up and request new prescriptions/LU from physicians.
  • Manage inventory
  • Update KROLL records after each clinic as needed
  • Place reminder calls to patients to confirm their appointments at the clinic
  • Sterile Compounding
  • Requirement to work evening and weekend hours

Qualifications

  • Completion of technical training required
  • Minimum 1 year full time working pharmacy experience
  • Experience with the KROLL system and knowledge of aseptic techniques are an asset
  • Candidates must demonstrate organizational skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, computer literacy, time management skills and initiative
