Location: Burnaby, BC
Reports to: Pharmacy Manager

Salary: Salaried, commensurate with experiences

Job Responsibilities 

  • Daily supervision of the pharmacy assistants
  • Oversee workflow process in the pharmacy operation
  • Organize teams’ work responsibilities and assist employees and Team Leads in prioritizing work tasks
  • Facilitate active communication between work teams
  • Monitor and escalate common errors/incidents, identifying opportunities to prevent reoccurrence
  • Ensure team is working in compliance with company policy, practice and standard operating procedures
  • Ensure team in working in compliance with BC College of Pharmacists requirements, residential care policies and audits
  • Schedule employees and approve time, including review of time-off requests, coverage during non-scheduled absences, etc.
  • Actively monitor employee performance, including preparation and delivery of probationary and annual employee performance evaluations and execution of employee development plans
  • Responsible for the recruitment, selection and onboarding for newly hired employees
  • Provide workplace orientation and training
  • Address internal personnel concerns, identifying solutions and action plans
  • Maintain an informed teams through regular team meetings
  • Liaison between pharmacy teams, as well as management
  • Actively monitor customer service expectations and our commitment to service levels
  • Monitor workplace health and safety, and participate as a member of the health and safety committee
  • Assist Pharmacy Manager in medication incident investigation and reporting
  • Assist Pharmacy Manager with inventory control, counts and audits

Qualifications

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician (in good standing with the British Columbia School of Pharmacists) preferred but not required
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Long Term Care pharmacy environment
  • Strong leadership background
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Kroll an asset
