Job Title: Pharmacy Assistant (Production)
Location: Mississauga, ON
Reports to: Operations Manager, Pharmacy
No. of Positions: 1
Type: Full time, Permanent
Salary: Hourly, commensurate with experience

Job Responsibilities

  • Compound sterile solutions (including chemotherapy) using aseptic techniques
  • Set up and operate an Automated Compounder for Home Parenteral Nutrition
  • Maintain cleanroom and cleanroom equipment
  • Prepare ingredients needed for the compounding process before sending them into the clean room
  • Maintain and monitor fridges and pharmacy equipment
  • Maintain product inventory/stock
  • Label the final products and prepare packages for delivery
  • Requirement to work evening and weekend hours

Qualifications

  • Completion of technical training required
  • Minimum 1 year full time working pharmacy experience
  • Experience with the Kroll and/or Abacus system is an asset
  • Good understanding of community infusion therapy services
  • Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques
  • Experience working in a cleanroom environment
  • Candidates must demonstrate organizational skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, computer literacy, time management skills and initiative
