Job Title: Staff Pharmacist
Location: Mississauga, ON
Reports to: Designed Pharmacy Manager
No. of Positions: 1
Type: Part time, Permanent
Salary: Hourly, commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities 

  • Providing professional functions related to dispensing
  • Problem solving and discussion of order related issues with clinicians and client case managers
  • Participating in dispensing, triage of new orders, computer entry, sterile compounding, Total Parenteral Nutrition products (TPNs), specialty ophthalmic products, collation of data and clinical reviews
  • Ensuring the accuracy of medications dispensed
  • Researching the compatibility and stability of IV admixtures
  • Assisting/coordinating in supplying medications and supplies for Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) services to the physician
  • Assisting the Designated Pharmacy Manager in training of new staff
  • Providing supervision and leadership in the pharmacy while on duty
  • Oversee maintenance and monitoring of the clean room
  • Oversee inventory maintenance
  • Requirement to participate in an on-call rotation
  • Requirement to work evening and weekend hours


  • Must be licensed and in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
  • Minimum 1 year Pharmacist experience
  • Experience in hospital/community infusion services
  • Strong knowledge of specialty infusion medications
  • Experience with the Kroll and/or Abacus system is an asset
  • Sound judgment, decision-making skills, initiative, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Computer literate
