Job Title: Dispatcher
Location: Ontario Medical Supply (OMS) – Mississauga, ON
Reports to: Operations Manager
No. of Positions: 1
Type: Full time, Permanent
Salary: Hourly, commensurate with experience

Job Responsibilities 

  • Assign daily delivery of parcels and coordinate run schedules
  • Ensure all delivery documentation is complete/submitted in a timely manner
  • Oversee and coordinate specific shipping activities
  • Ensure work is performed within established regulations, policies and procedures with regards to delivering parcels, workplace health and safety, the workplace environment and quality control
  • Observe general performance of staff during shift
  • Identify issues/concerns and report/escalate information to the appropriate personnel
  • Report and escalate all delivery deficiencies to the appropriate department
  • Lead, instruct and train employees on an ongoing basis to perform the Dispatch and Delivery functions
  • Ensure schedules and deadlines are adhered to
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships showing respect and professionalism with those contacted in the course of work including co-workers, brokers and couriers
  • Verify accuracy of shipments and ensuring items are sent in the most cost effective manner; tracing lost shipments and/or claims for lost shipments
  • Prepare specific bills of lading: checks items to be shipped against orders to ensure that quantities, destination and routing are correct
  • Provide leadership by demonstrating high standards of work practices and safety conscious behaviour
  • Provide customer service to all clients as well as external and internal customers in a professional manner
  • Perform general housekeeping duties


  • Completion of high school
  • Strong customer service skills/proven ability to interact with the elderly
  • Good knowledge of the GTA and surrounding area
  • Background Check is required
  • Leadership qualities including the ability to instruct and maintain effective and efficient productivity from personnel
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must be able to work independently minimal direction using good judgment and initiative
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Manual dexterity is required to use desktop/handheld computers, printers, scanners
