Job Title: Team Lead, Compounding
Location: Ottawa, ON
Pharmacy: Type Home Infusion – Algoma
Reports to: Supervisor, Home Infusion Team
No. of Positions: 1
Type: Full time Permanent
Salary: Hourly, commensurate with experiences

Key Responsibilities 

  • Oversee the workflow in designated areas of the pharmacy operation
  • Organize and manage staff workload and assist in prioritizing work tasks
  • Check the compounding process inside of the clean room for accuracy
  • Process and check orders as assigned by the Designated Pharmacy Manager
  • Enforce Company policies & procedures pertaining to aseptic techniques and clean room behavior and maintenance
  • Assist in training and development of staff within their designated area of the pharmacy operation
  • Assist  with environmental monitoring  
  • Work with management to ensure proper scheduling
  • Attend and hold regular internal team meetings e.g. communicate and implement new/existing policy and procedures
  • Liaison between management and the staff

Qualifications

  • Accreditation as a Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing and adherence to the Standards of Practice with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
  • Minimum 2 years’ full time working in a pharmacy
  • Ability to drive team cohesion
  • Ability to motivate a team to reach deadlines and implement change
  • Good judgment – ability to answer to questions in the clean room
  • Knowledge of clean room design and behavior and aseptic techniques
  • Good communication skills – both verbally and in writing
