Reports to: Senior Vice President, Information Technology (IT)

Type: Full Time Permanent

Job Responsibilities

The Senior Business Analyst serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs. This role understands the overall business and information needs of the organization and is responsible to elicit, analyze, validate and manage the needs of business partners.

  • Acts as an interface between business units, technology teams and support teams.
  • Identifies business strengths and weaknesses and suggests areas of improvement.
  • Create, reviews and edits requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution.
  • Communicates effectively with the business to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions with project management.
  • Delivers informative, well-organized presentations and understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
  • Assists in the development and execution of project plans including leading testing efforts.
  • Identifies critical issues with ease and manages process change well
  • Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen business relationships.
  • Manages business expectations effectively.
  • Participates in technical requirements and design sessions for requested configuration changes and/or interface changes to the application platform.
  • Creates test plans and conducts application testing and configuration with minimal guidance from consultant staff.
  • Identify, create and facilitate process design changes by conducting business and systems process analysis and design at a complex level; focusing on quality improvement and data management; ensuring data is reliable and valid; developing process improvements or re-engineering and recommending elimination; integrating new systems and processes with existing ones; and partnering with internal and external customers to ensure systems provided meet the long-term business strategies
  • Provide project level analysis – producing required project analysis documentation (business requirements, scope matrix, use cases, sequence diagrams, future state proposals, UAT plan)
  • Collaborate closely with developers to implement the requirements, provide necessary guidance to testers during QA process
  • Support the business in development of business cases as appropriate

  • Experience of development and management of Business Test/ UAT test cycles
  • Experience of establishing a business case
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand the business goals and opportunities.
  • Strong technical skills and deep understanding of customer's needs to transform into application and operational requirements.
  • Strong influencing and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to challenge stakeholders in a constructive manner and manage conflict resolution to gain consensus on project scope and requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field.
  • 5+ years of related experience in an increasingly senior business analysis role in business IT projects.
  • Health care or pharmacy industry experience is an asset.
  • Strong business analysis skills and understanding of business requirements is a must.
  • Good technical knowledge and skills.
  • Knowledge of analysis tools/techniques/methods including use case modelling, workshops, storyboards, UML diagrams, UI prototypes, requirement specifications.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and proven decision making skills
  • Excellent time management, planning and reporting
  • Knowledge of project management processes and the project management life cycle.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Must have proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools.
  • A methodical approach to problem solving
  • Professional and results oriented approach
  • Self-motivated and driven attitude to work
