Location: Ontario Medical Supply (OMS) – Algoma Rd. location, Ottawa ON

Reports to: Director - Infusion, Medical Supplies and Equipment

Type: Full time, permanent

Salary: Salaried, commensurate with experiences

Job Responsibilities

The Senior Operations Manager provides leadership and direction to our Warehouse, Retail Sales, Mobility Service, and LHIN Customer Service teams. This role is responsible for ensuring operational excellence to achieve and contribute to the satisfaction and retention of the customers we serve, as well as contribute to and support growth of the Ontario Medical Supply Inc. (OMS) line of business.

  • Contribute to short and long-term business planning and overall business strategy as a member of the management team, and drive related initiatives within the team
  • Identify and recommend growth initiatives within in the business
  • Work in cooperation with Director, OMS Sales to increase sales and cost efficiency
  • Develop and implement best practices, processes and policies to support the overall business strategy, including but not limited to operational systems, reporting, information sharing and workflow
  • Monitor process, procedural and policy to ensure requirements are met, as well as hold each team accountable for compliance through regular reporting, auditing and follow-up
  •  Ensure company policy, procedure and practices are compliant International Standards Organization (ISO) requirements, where applicable
  •  Ensure departments are effectively and efficiently coordinating and communicating with one another as well as with other key departments across the organization
  • Coordinate and supervise departmental activities to achieve desired objectives
  • Measure customer service levels, and execute measures to improve customer experience and satisfaction
  • Establish and manage departmental budgets, performance indicators, operational targets, and financial goals in coordination with Finance and the Senior Management team, including but not limited to labour, expense control, inventory control and purchasing
  • Provide on-site support and leadership to the entire warehouse and delivery operations
  • Support the Warehouse Supervisor in the management of inventory at the Algoma site Coordinate and supervise inventory counts as required
  • Provide leadership, mentorship and coaching to a team of direct and indirect reports
  • Perform employee recruitment, selection, onboarding activities
  • Perform talent review, succession planning and resource planning activities
  • Responsible for employee performance, including performance appraisals (probation, annual) as well as carrying out an appropriate level of feedback, developmental, coaching and disciplinary activities
  • Hold regular team meetings to ensure appropriate level of communication is provided to the various employee groups
  • Maintain awareness of the industry, its environment and opportunities
  • Actively promote positive external perception of the business

  • Business degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years’ progressive operational experience, including sales order process
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ management experience
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience in the Healthcare industry is an asset
