Job Title: Pharmacy Assistant / Pharmacy Technician – eMAR Support Specialist
Location: Markham, ON – Travel within Ontario and Western Canada (company vehicle is provided)
Department: Head Office – Operations
Reports to:  eMAR Manager

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a Pharmacy Assistant / Pharmacy Technician who has a knack for both pharmacy and technology. This dynamic, rewarding position will work with a multitude of LTC homes in the implementation and training of new eMAR systems nationwide. Extensive travel is required in this role (Ontario, Alberta, Bristish Columbia) and a company vehicle is provided for. We are open to hiring new graduates!

The eMAR Support Specialist is responsible for working collaboratively with the team to support our Long Term Care customers as they transition to new eMAR systems.  The role primarily involves supporting eMAR deployments by working together, upholding customer-and-quality focused care, and supporting the team in the execution of tasks related to eMAR deployments and other special projects the team undertakes.

  • Training front-line staff in senior care settings and long term care facilities on pharmacy technologies including but not limited to various eMAR systems
  • Acquiring and keeping up-to-date a strong knowledge base with eMAR Applications as well as knowledge on internal Policy & Procedures and new pharmacy technologies
  • Working with vendors to resolve application issues and relay enhancement requests
  • Providing on-site and on-call support for pharmacy technologies
  • Auditing patient health records and preparing confidential patient data for various pharmacy technologies
  • Training internal pharmacy staff on pharmacy technologies and related procedures
  • Communicating and working within a team to deploy and provide support for new pharmacy technologies in facilities across Canada
  • Installing and troubleshooting hardware and software issues related to eMAR deployments and various pharmacy technologies
  • Listening and understanding customer needs and requirements using professional customer service skills
  • Maintaining incident management ticket queues by setting priorities and resolving Service Centre eMAR support escalations
  • Other responsibilities to be assigned as deemed necessary for the deployment, training and support of pharmacy technologies


Pharmacy Assistant/Pharmacy Technician background with a preference of at least 2 years full time pharmacy experience (Long Term Care Pharmacy experience is an asset) We are open to hiring new graduates as well!

  • Robust experience with Kroll software is an asset
  • Experience with eMAR systems is preferred but not required
  • Proficient with computer applications and providing technical/troubleshooting support
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Reliability, strong communication verbal and written, customer service/interpersonal skills, patience and initiative are essential
  • Detail-oriented with ability to multitask and prioritize based on urgency
  • Able to work effectively with both internal/external customers and internal/external contacts
  • Proven flexibility and adaptability when working in a team and independently
  • Must have active full driver’s license in Ontario and produce a clean driver’s abstract; company vehicle will be provided
  • Requires extensive travel Ontario-wide and some travel to Western Canada, long hours, shift work
