As a Floating Pharmacy Assistant, you will be traveling to our various locations across Ontario to provide relief coverage. You have a passion for providing great customer service and preferably possess strong data entry skills using the Kroll software. A vehicle will be provided for the right incumbent.

Job Title: Floating Pharmacy Assistant

Department: Floating Relief Team – Head Office

Location: Various pharmacy locations across Ontario

Reports to: Director, Pharmacy Practice

No. of Positions: 1

Type: Full time, Permanent

Salary: Hourly, commensurate with experiences

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing internal pharmacy assistant relief coverage to various pharmacy locations throughout Ontario
  • Performing all technical aspects of dispensing of prescriptions, including receiving the order/refill, procuring complete and current information, computer entry, preparation and labelling in an efficient, accurate and timely fashion. This may include compounding or reconstituting if delegated by the pharmacist
  • Inputting prescriptions using pharmacy management software (Kroll), updating patient profile information, generating, maintenance and inputting of long term care data
  • Assisting with maintenance of pharmacy equipment including computers, heat sealers, fax machines, PacMed, PacVision
  • Clerical duties include completing all records, documentation and patient or third party billings/charges, preparing receipts, invoices, letters, memos and general filling
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Minimum of 2 years full time working pharmacy experience required
  • Kroll data entry expertise required
  • Long Term Care pharmacy experience preferred
  • Ability to work day/evening/weekend/overtime hours
  • Ability to travel/overnight stays (expenses related to travel and overnight accommodation are reimbursed by the employer upon submission of receipt and expense report form)
  • Must have active full driver’s license in Ontario and produce a clean driver’s abstract (company vehicle provided)
  • Must demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, accuracy, reliability, teamwork and productivity
  • Must demonstrate strong communication (verbal and written), customer service, initiative, team work and interpersonal skills
  • Basic Microsoft Excel skills preferred
