Job Responsibilities

  • Share knowledge, experiences and best practices with various stakeholders across the organization
  • Support organization during implementation and/or ongoing operational stability efforts in this area of pharmacy
  • Ensure customer service needs are exceeded/met for our customer needs
  • Ensure that the pharmacy operates in accordance with DPRS, guidelines of the Ontario College of Pharmacists and Health Canada
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the pharmacy and ensuring that staff are properly supported
  • Achieve company objectives, attain target metrics, meet operational targets and KPI’s
  • Responsible for the direct management of the Pharmacy team
  • Facilitate regular team meetings to communicate and implement new/existing policy and procedures
  • Ensure employees are working in compliance with company policy/practice/procedure
  • Perform performance assessments (probationary, annually)
  • Provide training to and supporting the pharmacy team members in their professional growth and development
  • Manage the internal recruitment and selection process for the pharmacy team
  • Provide the pharmacy team with performance coaching and/or disciplinary action
  • Manage incidents of employee conflict
  • Schedule the pharmacy team, update and approval of employee time for payroll
  • Ensure billing is done correctly and in accordance with governed billing requirements
  • Investigate medication incidents, participating in root cause analyses, implementing preventative measures and liaison with client
  • Liaison between the pharmacy team and various key stakeholders e.g. Home Infusion Manager, Senior Management
  • Monitor health and safety compliance
  • Participate in site visits
  • Responsible for inventory management and audit process

Qualifications

  • Must be licensed and in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists with the expectation of adherence to the Standards of Practice for Designated Managers
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a management role
  • Minimum 3 years’ pharmacist experience (IV exposure an asset)
  • Working knowledge of equipment and technology commonly used in the pharmacy environment (e.g. Kroll)
  • Working knowledge of IV pharmacy and speciality pharmacy operations preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal/external contacts, both orally and in writing
