Medical Pharmacies is pleased to announce the appointment of Carla Beaton, R.Ph, BSc Phm, CGP, FASCP, to the position of Manager, Long Term Care Services.

In this role, Carla is responsible for planning, implementation and consistent service to all homes serviced by Medical Pharmacies. Her primary focus is resident safety and customer service.

Carla brings her experience as a Pharmacy Manager, Clinical Consultant, Certified Geriatric Pharmacist and Regional Director Operations to her new role. Her depth of knowledge and management skills enable her to balance the requirements of long term care and retirement homes with the services provided by our pharmacies and consultants.

Recognizing the value of education in the care of the elderly, she has developed and presented seminars on a variety of subjects such as Pain Management, Diabetes, Pharmacy Policy & Procedures in Homes and Influenza Outbreak Management. Her most recent achievement – the co-design, implementation and delivery of a College Accredited continuing education program covering all aspects of geriatric pharmacy for registered nurses.
