POLICY & PROCEDURE MANUALS
Medical Pharmacies' systematic medication management and administration systems are detailed in our comprehensive Policy and Procedure Manuals. We have developed systems to satisfy the needs of the various types of long term care homes. Our manuals are available only to our long term care clients and, with assistance from our clinical consultant pharmacists, can be customized to dovetail with the specific policies and procedures of each facility.

1. Nursing Homes & Homes for the Aged
Our comprehensive Policy and Procedure Manual for long term care homes is based on Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care regulations, College of Nurses and College of Pharmacists standards. Policies focus on procedures that ensure safety, efficiency and accountability throughout the medication system.

2. Retirement Homes
Flexibility of medication systems for retirement homes is necessary to accommodate unique resident populations and staffing profiles. Medical Pharmacies Manual for Retirement Homes provides comprehensive guidelines for all aspects of the medication management system.

3. Retirement Homes/Unregulated Care Providers
Ann Garnett, R.Ph., B.Pharm, one of our specialists in retirement home consulting has developed comprehensive information addressing all aspects of the medication administration system for ease of use by Unregulated Care Providers. System implementation, training, and follow-up are included in our Policy and Procedure Manual for Nurses Working with UCPs.

4. Group Homes
Medical Pharmacies has customized procedures and policies that meet the specialized needs of group home residents.

DRUG IDENTIFICATION MANUAL
This manual is a catalogue of colour photos of tablets and capsules showing both sides of each product. It is indexed by trade and generic names for easy reference. The manual is a highly useful resource that complements our Med-eStrip packaging.
