Erast Huculak R.Ph., B.S.P., LL.D (Hon.)
President

Erast Huculak founded Medical Pharmacies in 1957. As President, he provides leadership and guidance, establishing effective teams to drive the company forward. Erast holds an Honorary Doctor of Law degree from the University of Alberta, recognizing him as, “an outstanding Canadian for his contribution as a worldwide community builder, through his international humanitarian and philanthropic activities and his advancement of Ukrainian Studies." Already a recipient of the Ukrainian President's Medal, he was honoured in 2007 with an appointment to the Order of Canada.

Richard Sevazlian R.Ph., B.Phm., Ph.Chem.
CEO

Richard Sevazlian provides vision and strategic direction for Medical Pharmacies. With a keen eye on the market as well as technological trends, he researches and develops the plans for future expansion of the company. His control of the procurement function is a critical element in our long term care services. An active member of several pharmacy organizations, Richard’s contributions to the pharmacy profession are many. They include being a board member of the Canadian Association of Chain Drug Stores, Ontario Chain Drug Association and Rx Canada.

Sydney Shrott R.Ph., Phm.B.
Senior Vice-President, Corporate Operations

Syd Shrott directs operations with a focus on the company’s professional and human resources activities. His strategic planning guides each pharmacy location. Among his contributions to the pharmacy profession, he is an active member of the Canadian and Ontario Chain Drug Associations, Chair of the Ontario Pharmacists Association (OPA) Long Term Care Committee and past Vice-President of the Canadian Pharmacists Association. A past president of OPA, Syd was named an Honorary Life Member. In 2007, Syd was honored as one of the 100 CPhA Centennial Pharmacists Award Winners, recognized for their significant contributions to the profession in Canada over the past 100 years.

Stephen Pearson R.Ph., B.Sc.Phm.
Senior Vice-President, Long Term Care Services

Steve Pearson is the visionary directing Medical Pharmacies’ involvement in long term care pharmacy services. Throughout his career he has centered his practice in long term care pharmacy. Today his focus is on strategic direction and business development. Steve is a founding member of the Canadian Society of Consultant Pharmacists. As an active member of the Ontario Pharmacists' Association's Long Term Care Committee, he has worked with Ontario’s Ministry of Health and Long Term Care to develop and update standards for pharmacy service.

Anthony Di Mito, B.B.M., CMA
Vice-President, Finance

Anthony Di Mito is responsible for financial management and information technology. He has provided the financial leadership throughout the company’s continued growth. As head of the company’s expanding technology department, Anthony is the driving force in its successful exploration and development of innovative tools that support our pharmacy services programs.

Elaine Akers, R.Ph., B.Sc.Phm.
Vice-President, Operations

Elaine Akers is responsible for operations for both community and long term care pharmacy.  She is dedicated to providing enthusiastic leadership and developing innovative systems to support pharmacy operations.  Her practice in independent and large chain pharmacies as well as high volume long term care pharmacy forms the foundation for planning and continuous improvement. Elaine is active with Ontario College of Pharmacy, RxCanada Pharmacy Advisory Group, the International Pharmacy Graduate Council Canadian Pharmacist Association and the Ontario Pharmacists' Association. 

Roxanne Tang, R.Ph., B.S.P.
Vice-President, Professional Services

Roxanne Tang provides leadership in several key areas:  human resources, risk management, professional relations and continuing education programs.  With her varied background in both community and institutional pharmacy, Roxanne promotes continuous learning and is committed to expanding professional programs and pharmacy services.  She has served on various committees, including the planning committee for the Humber College Technician conference and is an active member of the Markham Pharmacist Association, Ontario Pharmacists Association, Canadian Pharmacists Association, Canadian Association of Chain Drug Stores and American Society of Consultant Pharmacists.
